On Thursday, I rode home from a client meeting that took place at 1-70 and Havana (and I live in the Baker neighborhood). A nice little 17 mile ride home.
I learned one very important thing: If you want to drive here...
You get to ride here:
This little slice of heaven-on-a-road-bike is Smith Road, just east of Havana. As you see above, those dark spots are man-hole sized potholes in the road. A little ways down, the lame attempt at concrete just gives up and turns into a gravel road. Smith Road eventually turns into a bus route - and the rest of the ride was pretty great.
Regardless, this route is do-able - and I'll probably ride it again seeing how there were NO cars.
