I had to stop by my old office on Colfax and Broadway last Thursday to take care of some paperwork, and I discovered that the bike rack had moved, to kind of a safer location in front of the building. What hadn't changed was the gravity the bike rack seemed to have on scooters.
These weren't locked to the bike racks at all, just really in the way. I tried to sneak in between them to roll my bike over to the rack, but ended up having to lift it up over my head to get in there.
I understand that scooters occupy this sort of not-really-cars, but not-really-bikes area, so maybe that's why they're always parked blocking bike racks. But you never see a motorcycle parked there.
